Was itching to go somewhere and have a proper photo shoot day, so I looked up things to do in Carmel and happened upon a place called Point Lobos State Reserve. Saw some cool photos on Flickr, so that's where we went last Saturday. We didn't get too far away from where we parked, but we had an awesome couple hours or so exploring the rock formations and tide pools near the spot we stopped. I think it was somewhere near Weston Beach that we spent all our time. Point Lobos is a huge park, so we barely, barely even scratched the surface of what we could do there. We'll definitely go back again sometime and get there earlier in the day so we can fit more activities in, but I was pretty content with the time we spent there that day.

I took a lot of photos of tide pools and other stuff facing away from the ocean. This ocean-view photo is meant to help balance things out. :)

Here's a better view of one of the areas of the shore we explored. I don't know who the guy in the background is; he's just there for scale and a little interest. :)
Really liked the sunlight highlighting the leaves on this tree. Wish the film had maintained more of an aqua cast rather than turning yellow-green... *sigh*
Didn't really know where to explore today for 'Roid Week, but ended up on Marsh Rd. in Milpitas. I didn't realize until later this evening when I talked to the hubby that this is the road that's (in)famous for being haunted (!!!). Good thing I didn't decide to drive out there at night (I wouldn't go anywhere like that at night while the hubby's out-of-town)! At any rate, this was a great place to get pictures of the mountains and the Calaveras Reservoir (I think that's what this body of water is). Earlier when I was driving down Felter Rd. I was frustrated that I couldn't find a good place to park the truck so I could take pictures of the reservoir, so I was on my way back to Calaveras Rd. when I detoured to Marsh Rd (it's like the stuff of horror flicks, now that I think about it. *shudder*). The place I stopped was actually quite peaceful, and the cows nearby added ambience with their gentle mooing. :) I would go back there again to see how it is at sunset, but not without the hubby!
Taken after the Skaggs Springs Road group drive with Bay Area S2KI forum members.
This is the sight that greets you (in the distance) when you get to the end of Skaggs Springs Road. Since the actual drive on Skaggs Springs Road was so fast, most of my photos from this outing were from before and after the drive.
Taken during another drive on Calaveras Rd. Needed a wider lens! I also wish there were some nice, fluffy clouds to add interest to the sky.
