Lunar eclipse from December 21, 2010. Took these shots from a spot on Sierra Rd. in San Jose (or Milpitas, not sure within which boundaries we were). Unfortunately there's nothing out there to add extra interest to the lunar eclipse, so the blushing eclipse itself will have to do. I stacked three photos together to get this composition with a bit more dynamic range. Pretty good from a slow 70-300 VR lens.

Cliffside lighthouse as seen from the Sausalito, CA area.

On a whim we drove down to Santa Cruz. We took the long way down there -- more mountain driving for the hubby -- hung out until a little after sunset, and then drove back the more direct route. Nice day trip. Still can't get over the fact that we can take short trips like this to get to places like Santa Cruz or the Sonoma area. Nice... :)

A view over San Jose and maybe some other surrounding cities from Sierra Rd. Took this pano last December during the lunar eclipse. There was a little "downtime" during the eclipse when I wasn't shooting photos of the moon, so I shot this pano in the meantime.
